Hi,

I've had this on Ubuntu installs compiled from source. To fix it I've
had to run chmod -s on caed, rdcatchd, ripcd such as:

sudo chmod -s caed rdcatchd ripcd

I can then start / stop them with the init.d script.

I've generally had these files in /usr/local/bin however they could be
somewhere else on your system.

I know there are ways to start up and stop these daemons without the
init.d script, however I still prefer the tried and true method that I'm
familiar with.

Hope this helps,

Lorne Tyndale
