I am also having this same issue on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS with Rivendell 2.8.1.
The server works perfectly but none of the clients have the waveform in the
Edit Markers window.

I have installed Tryphon packages then built from source to update to 2.8.1. I
have installed Apache on each client separately, not sure if that has anything
to do with it but with libexecdir being a compile-level option it's tricky to
test different settings.

The only other function not working on the clients is ripping CDs, which fails
to write audio but creates the placeholder cart. RDAirplay, RdLibrary, etc
are pulling from DB and playing music with no issues.

Thanks,
Michael Crawford
