I am fairly new to Rivendell myself; I have read all your messages,
but I can't quite make our what you do and don't know about Rivendell.
Although you are in the right place for support, this list has been
geared towards answering specific questions. Not really that good for a
walk-through.
The easiest thing to do is grab a copy of the latest "official"
appliance DVD. That will install a pre-configured almost ready-to-go
system. The reason I say "official" is there are other appliance disks
out there, but this one is put out by the developer himself, and you can
obtain commercial support for Rivendell as long as you are using a
system based on the appliance. You can get it here:

Note: It requires a minimum of a 300gig hard drive to install.

A word of caution-In my opinion the wiki is in desperate need of a
re-write. Some information appears to be out of date.
I know that is a lot of information to take in on the wiki, but the
truth is between the appliance DVD and the Rivendell Operations Guide
(rog) it really is pretty easy to set up. I know when I first started,
I was trying to make things harder than they really are.
