If you can get 12v ac from what you have on hand you can soon get it to
look like 9v very regulated hum free dc.
You will lose some voltage in the bridge rectifier.
A regulator in series will lose some more.
The 1010 will have some on board regulation as well.
Anything sealed in plastic with very thin wires is likely to be very dodgy.
We have had problems with power supplies from several 'big name'
broadcast suppliers.
