<Ducking> Of course, here is where a Program or Operations Director is a good thing. Letting DJ's make decisions on "HOW" a station sounds, is usually a "less than smart" concept.. that said, and assuming your DJ's have different music groups or Libraries for different shows, simply separate the music into different groups, rather than a single MUSIC category. You can then set the segue markers as you/they see fit. (also, when the next dj comes in, and says the music is too loose, you can easily fix it) For example, if you want a category that won't overlap, but is fairly tight, you should set the auto-trim to at least -35, the segue point about -20, (you could set 0 and remove the segue altogether) if you want it looser, you can modify auto-trim, for an absolute end of cart. (keeping in mind that the automation will not go to the next cart, till it hits the end marker) If you have a different style of music, just set the category/segues differently (-14 or so) and those songs will playback tighter. One thing I really like about RDMarkerset, is that it is now much more user friendly to those of us who prefer the longer smooth seques, and longer fadeouts at going into stopsets. As a general rule, I set my RDAirplay systems to a 2 second fade...so music to music is smooth, and the music to spots/pause is automatic, longer and very natural. > I realize I will still have to set some segue markers manually on a > case by case basis. yep...the station is only going to sound as good as you take the time to make it sound. _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list Rivendell-dev@lists.rivendellaudio.org http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
