 Actually, every hospital and all resort hotels I've been in or near
 for the last decade or so, all have it, or similar, and many have
 their own internal TV channel as well.
 The TV thing is mostly 5 minutes of slides, and nothing else, but
 they've been doing it for some time, along with the automated
 check-out things in hotels.

 The difference in US hospitals, is that no one really gives a crap
 how the patient feels, or what they think, so long as the insurance
 company pays top dollar for marginal service.
