OK, that isn't quite technically correct, but it's close enough, and it is something we *need* to be aware of. Before running out and buying the "latest and greatest" and especially from some companies like HP, it'll pay to take along a CD/DVD of Knoppix or similar, and make sure that the machine isn't one of those that will *only* boot a Micro$oft offing. For the most part, you can go to war with UEFI ( which is NOT a BIOS ) and probably get past it, but it is not without grief.
