Don't know how many on this list are also on the
general incubator list -- but I've been wondering how
we need to setup our PPMC, so thought I'd forward this
as fodder for our discussion.

Subject: Responsibilities of the PPMC
I'm working on a patch for https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/
INCUBATOR-54.
Before proposing a change to the web site, I'd like to have an
email review the PPMC's role and responsibilities.
Podling Project Management Committee (PPMC)
While the Incubator Project Management Committee (IPMC) has
oversight responsibilities for all Podlings that are incubating,
oversight of each specific Podling is the responsibility of the
Podling's PPMC.
One of the objectives of Incubation is that all participants learn
"The Apache Way". Participation in a Podling's PPMC helps
participants to learn policies and processes that are common to all
Apache projects.
The specific responsibilities of the PPMC are to manage the
committer list of the Podling, manage the Podling's PPMC
membership, propose releases during incubation, provide status
reports on a regular basis to the board via the Incubator PMC, and
recommend graduation from Incubation.
Podlings are encouraged to make all committers members of the
Podling's PPMC. Thus, the vote to accept a new committer should
also be a vote to accept a new member of the PPMC. The initial
membership of the PPMC should include the initial committers, the
Champion, and the Mentor.
