Would this not be appropriate for after the next release and then to  
go to something like 3.0 when the namespace change occurs?

This seems reasonable to me.

Can we produce a AR2 ASAP? Can the existing 10 items on the AR2  
roadmap be moved to the next release?
Then can we follow with 3.0 to include the namespace change?

How about AR2 gets released in November and 3.0 in December?
