Hello - I'm a new user of Rootkit Hunter. When I attempt to run "rkhunter -- update" on an openSuSE 10.2 system, I get the following:
Running updater... Fatal error. Missing line 'UPDATEFILEINFO=' or wrong/non-existing file Please check your configuration file (/usr/local/etc/rkhunter.conf) Ready. I have the default /usr/local/etc/rkhunter.conf file generated by the install process. It contains only the line: INSTALLDIR=/usr/local/rkhunter However, I installed rkhunter to /root/rkhunter (at least temporarily), and that's where I run it from. The rkhunter.conf file in this directory contains an rkhunter.conf that contains: # Links to files. Don't change if you don't need to. LATESTVERSION=/rkhunter_latest.dat UPDATEFILEINFO=/rkhunter_fileinfo.dat There does not appear to be a file called "rkhunter_fileinfo.dat" anywhere on my system. Is this a file that was supposed to be created during installation? do I need to get this from somewhere else? So... what do I need to do in order to get rkhunter --update to work?
