Just for peoples' information. I tried to install truetype fonts by hand;
this is a process that I've done manually many times before with 100%
success. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work here for me. I'll
investigate. If anyone has done this themselves, what steps did you take?

I usually do the following:

cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts
mkdir Truetype
cd Truetype
(copy truetype fonts from windows)
ttmkfdir > fonts.scale
mkfontdir

And that usually works. Any comments?

Also, I'm getting really poor performance from RL. It seems to take ages for
anything to load, and the graphical performance is poor as well. I know this
is difficult to explain and quantify, but I'm comparing RL against Mandrake
and Peanut Linux. Has Anyone else seen this before?

Thanks
MIKE
