Just did some checking and bash supports this too:

http://www.caliban.org/bash/

All I had to do was edit (using Debian stable)

/etc/bash.bashrc

and uncomment a few lines to enable the magic. And it is very cool magic
indeed.

I was considering changing the subject to something like Context sensitive
tab completion - but realized that this thread was a perfect example of a
great way to learn Linux stuff. Being on a LUG (or two) is one of the best
ways to learn. At first it may seem like a lot of ridiculous nerd banter -
zsh is better than bash - but I would never have thought to look for smart
tab completion without it. Now a flash of the left pinky brings a smile to
my face - thanks guys...
