Didn't Ryan F. say something about how Charter's DHCP requests were a bit
non-standard, causing certain Linux-enabled devices to fail to respond to
DHCP requests?

You *should* be able to plug in the WAP and it will just *work* out of the
box. At this point, I suspect your WAP is defective, and I would suggest
replacing it. I have a spare Linksys router and Linksys WAP11 you can
borrow if that'll help trouble shoot your problem.
