I thought about setting up UML servers, but I found I simply didn't have
time to implement such a set up.

I do currently have 2 linodes, a 192 with a 1 yr contract for my mail
server, and a 64 with a 1 yr contract for hosting. I have had my share
of problems with my linode, but if you go into the IRC channel you can
talk to the owner/operator, Caker, he'll help you. The message forums
also work out pretty well if you have any concerns.

From what I've seen in the forums, Caker is pretty good about refunds
and going beyond his TOS, but of course, he could always take your money
and run according to #5. Not to mention that there are no backups or
guaranteed uptime for linodes, but right now I have a pretty good
uptime:

linode192
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ballew]$ uname -a
Linux lx 2.4.26-linode26-1um #1 Tue Apr 20 20:15:47 EDT 2004 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ballew]$ uptime
 17:08:26 up 113 days, 2:30, 8 users, load average: 0.08, 0.27, 0.25

linode64
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ballew]$ uname -a
Linux pi.cx 2.4.26-linode30-1um #1 Thu Jun 24 05:06:58 EDT 2004 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ballew]$ uptime
 20:08:57 up 52 days, 5:11, 3 users, load average: 0.07, 0.02, 0.00

You could also look at the more expensive JohnCompanies, which I have
only heard good things about. A Co-op would be interesting, but I simply
don't have enough time or money to contribute. If something does blossom
out of it, I may be interested later.
