Hi all,

I've just joined this list, and I'd thought I'd jump in. I've been
using Linux off-and-on for years now -- I've moved to Linux when I'm
fed up with Microsoft want my command line back, but then move back to
Windows because of work reason, or I get tired of tweeking bits just
to get something to run. I use Vim at work, even doing .NET
programming, and everybody thinks I'm strange, but I like being able
to do lots of things from the keyboard.

I hate dual booting. But invariably, you need Windows to run
something, and I don't feel like futzing with Wine or something else
to make it run. And it's silly to reboot just to run some app, then
rebooting again just to read email.

My latest solution: a KVM switch. We all have an extra computer
kicking around -- plug them both in, one with Linux and the other with
Windows. Switch between with a keypress. And any cron jobs you have
will always be run, which doesn't always happen in dual boot. Having
two dedicated boxes solves a lot of problems.

I haven't fired up VMWare in years, another solution, but I haven't
felt like paying for a license.
