At the moment I am not in the office so I cannot test what you propose. 
>From the top of my head I would say we are running stable distribution in 
the rover platform. Linux distribution is 12.04 in case you were also 
asking this.

I will give you more details once I am back in the office as from Monday

Which distribution/version are you running ?

We should fix the problem properly, but in the meantime you can add an
osdep file in autoproj/ (e.g. autoproj/thor-fix.osdeps) that contains
the following line

thor: gem
