Wouldn't these settings require the user to edit the .cfg file manually 
then?

How many settings are there really out there for themes that we don't 
have? It seems like the obvious solution is to simply let authors post 
multiple versions of their themes (as they do already) so the person who 
doesn't want album art can just download the non album art variant, 
rather than introducing a whole bunch of extra complication.
