The old urls should still be working.  Did you verify that you had urls
that were no longer working anymore before hacking at things?

That is probably not a good idea Matt, but you are definitely free to do
whatever you want.

One strong reason for standardizing the "Weblog" template is because in
reality it is a special template which should not be accessed via a page
name, instead it should only be used when someone is not trying to reach
a specific page name, i.e. via /roller/page/myweblog
