Just in kidding.

On a serious note, I think planets is what you need. Basically every
author gets their own blog and their tag each posts with multiple tags
according to their target aggregated blog. Then you build a planet for
each audience you want and it fetches items from all of the authors with
the proper tag.

For example, you can write an entry with tags 'son','knitting'. Then
have two planets one for family and one for knitting. That post then
would be *shared* on both blogs without us having to overload the db and
application with unnecessary overhead.
