First, if something's sent off the list, it's generally rude and disrespectful to forward it TO the list, regardless what that email was. I've no qualms about dealing with it here though. No, I don't feel like I "own" this list. I help out more often than not. Hell, I've even helped you out, pointing errors out in your code to you nicely.
HOWEVER When I get 10+ emails from you a day (through this list), then, there's a big problem. NOT with the list, but with the people that would abuse it, with those that think the list is there to be their own personal code tutor, etc. That's called spam, and it's unacceptable and unwanted. Lighten up? I don't think so. I deal with spam VERY seriously, I'm paid to do so.. You've been given VERY good suggestions, I'll restate them: A> GET A CODER!!! B> Buy a book on C C> Learn to code yourself. This list is NOT Dantin's personal email help guide. Going through (just the past week mind you), I've managed to catch more mail from you than the rest of the list (aside from this afternoon's discussion).Of course, that will stop after this evening, as filters will be applied to your address, pretty much sending it right back to you, and logging it. If my bandwidth continues to get hogged by yourself, you'll find yourself in a rather large problem , as a spammer. The point being made here is if you can't code, admit it and find someone that CAN code for you or teach you to do so. THAT is not the responsibility of this list. We're NOT your personal guides and gurus. We all have lives and jobs and MUDS. NOBODY wants to see 50+ emails from ANYONE in a week. that's just insane. I realize yo u're probably just a child, but you need to realize you're dealing with things that you know nothing about.. For the love of GOD don't harass the rest of the damn list!! NObody's taking ANYTHING out on you, we're just tired of hearing the same newbie questions from people who don't give a damn to search for their own answers (tried using a search engine? or reading the damn FAQ, or even SEARCHING th mailing list???). We're not your peons here, we're not going to come around at your every beck and call and help you out every time you come whining to the damn list. Why should we? Yes, I chose to become a member of a mailing list. However, I did NOT choose to become your own personal help guide. I've received (at a minimum) 50 emails from YOU alone since Sunday night. Get a coder, find someone to hold your little childish hand and solve your problems yourself. True problems are welcome. Problem newbies, such as yourself I have zero tolerance for. -- TJW :Head tech, designer, bum:P Mud :http://dreamless.wolfstream.net telnet :telnet://dreamless.wolfstream.net 9275 OLC Pages:http://olc.wolfstream.net
