I've seen 3 posts on this, and none of them said anything about putting in log()'s or use gdb to step through the loading process to find out "where" in the file it's bombing at. I suggest using log()'s for one. Ie. log( Loading object. Pass #%d", pass_num ); Or something similar.
Or you can use gdb to step through and find out where it's bombing at. Each method has it's own tid bit of information. Sometimes I do both to help out greatly. I am trying to put player owned shops in. I copied the fread_obj and fwrite_obj and kept from those the only stuff I needed. Fwrite works. Fread don't Keep getting a BUG Fread_word: Word to long. The objects save to another directory similar to that of a pfile but with out all the player stuff. What I am trying to get the objects to do is load to a specific mob in the game using a vnum stored in the players file. Soo.....my real question is what am I missing or what don't I know about Fread_word? I will be more then happy to post the code but kind of big and didn't want to spam everyone. -- ROM mailing list [email protected] http://www.rom.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rom
