Then don't criticize those that DO release what you refuse to do. Or
should I say don't criticize those who are generous with their own work,
when you refuse to be so with your own.
Either way pretty much works.
Yeah, I'd call it selfish myself.. Or better yet paranoid. 
As far as the mud "community" being the same way, you're dead wrong
there. In fact, where would your mud be if everyone took the same
attitude?? It wouldn't be, because there'd be NO code for it. 
Part of the thought behind "community" is people gathering together,
working with things, picking things apart, blah blah blah. It's not this
"SELFISH" attitude. In fact, communities based on that, well, they don't
last very long at all.

I haven't released anything because of the fact that people don't ever 
give credit where it's due.  The only way to keep your code safe is to 
keep it to yourself.  Sure, it may be selfish, but i'm the one that put 
in time to make it and i'll decide what i want to do with it.  I'm sure 
you can agree as anyone can see that this is the way the mud community 
is.
