Dear John,

Please remember that stupidity and arrogance are not limited to any country.
The scandal is also that a lot of money was given without proper bidding
procedures by a former Minister of Agriculture Ilie to a company owned
someho by a company that is 90% owned by his wife. The newspapers here
have been full of this news that that money was also not properly spent or
the little work done was incompetent or at best deceitful...which resulted
in bridges and roads and irrigation systems and dams not working...the reason
for all the rain having such a terrible effect.

I did not see that newspaper title you mentioned. But Maria is right,
there is a great deal of confusion about who offers the pumps, for free or
not, are they correct for what is needed and who should get the credit.
That this is a crazy situation in the middle of a disaster is clear.

There are too many childish egos and unrestrained tempers and people
looking to cause trouble for someone else who is of some other political
party while Romania is in great trouble. This is the greatest scandal of
all. We need dedicated, honest and sincere people now who willing to do
the right thing for the greater good.

Please do not get caught up in any manufactured ethnic or national aspect
to this bad situation.

If you can help by sending money, please do so. Realititatae TV is raising
money for the Digul.

Best wishes,
Beth

scandal is around this. But it is not verified yet that the
company produces the same type of pumps or if it was able to put them so fast
in action.

government and some newspapers was something like "Take your stinking
Hungarian crap and get the hell back where you came from." Any clarity
anyone can give would be appreciated.
