this character issue is realy strange. I've put together some simple html file, read it from disk,
and opened it in firefox. jam. added the charset header, umlauts.
Added charset header to webcit, still jam.
added an & a uml ; to the translation file, the right umlaut is shown next to the others.
strange things happen. perhaps one needs realy tell the localization which charset one is using?
