LS - Very true. Not hardcoding is key when you're planning flexibility. 
But you're also choosing not to hardcode as part of the design.. And a 
planned out design whether it's database or GUI is an important 
foundation. You also need to not hardcode things if you know you're going 
to have multiple clients who will do things differently. But that's a 
different discussion from the GUI side of the world.
