In a shameless plug, I could recommend a book I co-authored - Schaum's
Outline of UML

In terms of your requirements, the book won't help much (if at all) with
Rose. However, I believe it provides very good coverage of UML and RUP. The
book covers all UML notations (according to the UML spec, rather than Rose -
which is quite a gap in places). Each notation is covered in depth (full
spec definiton) with case study examples. The role of each notation in RUP
is covered as well.
