There is no patch for Rose 2001A for Windows that I am aware of, but I had
the misfortune of upgrading to 2001A and discovered that it still has a bug
that was fixed in 2001 with Patch1. I had advised people at my company
against upgrading to 2001A and I would advise the same to anyone else until
a patch is issued. I think Rational dropped the ball in this case.

Vladimir,
I'm using 2001a.04.01.293.011 (That's with the patch for it). I have
noticed from producing activity diagrams that they don't quite behave as
expected. The problems I've noticed are when you've tidied and layed out
the diagram as you want it, save it and load it at a later date. When you
load it in, the sizing of all the activities has gone mad! This is
especially true when I've included activities from other packages within my
model. This is even true with all other diagrams. Sometimes I don't even
have to reload it for it to go mad, it will do it itself. So it sounds as
if there are still quirks in the system.

Hi,
I am currently using Rose release version 2001.03.00 and considering
transition to Rose2001A. Before I start doing any installations and Rose
updates I would like to disscus this issue with anyone having practical
experience with it. The main reason for this transition from my point of
view is terrible (undesired) layout automation of Activity diagrams in the
currently used Rose release version (esspecially Objects in combination
with Swimlanes).
Thease are my questions:
- Isn't there any patch or workarround to fix the above mentioned situation
with layout for Rose 2001.03 ?
- Esspecially I am interested, if concepts of Objects and Object flows
within Activity diagrams has been changed ?(These are essential parts of my
models)
- May I expect smothed loading of my current models after transition ?
Thanks for your comments in advance.
Regards,
Vladimir.
