I have a customer that is using state diagrams to model this type of
behaviour. They have added this diagram to the Use Case storyboards as
apecified in the Ux Modeling Plug-In.

Subject: (ROSE) decisions in activity diagram

Hi all,

I have a rather interesting question.
We are using activity diagrams to explain the steps within a usecase
(requirements workflow).

The problem is:
The application generates a screen:
The screen contains 2 checkboxes (a and b) and two buttons (x and y).
The user is able to press both buttons, but when he presses button x, only
one checkbox can be checked. If he presses button y, both checkboxes can be
checked.

The question is how to model this in an activity diagram.

We have two possibilities (see attached zipfile)

We have the feeling that flow1.gif might be easier for the end-user to
understand, but the development team prefers flow2.gif

Did anyone have a similiar problem or does anyone have an opinion on this?

Kind regards,
Arno Leenders
