Ah, I see what the difference is.  At the moment it's possible to move
multiple segments, but only (counter-intuitively) using the select
tool, not the move tool.  Just make your selection and then click
and drag with Shift pressed, as Shift is the multi-select modifier.
Of course Shift also switches off snap-to-grid so if you want that,
you have to release Shift while dragging.  You can also copy multiple
segments with Shift-Ctrl-click-drag.

You get the same guides when moving multiple segments this way as you
do when moving one (i.e. just one horizontal and one vertical line).

Whatever we do, we should probably at least make sure the guides
are the same whichever tool is being used.

Yeah, everything in the segment canvas seems to be.  In this case
it was probably much simpler to do in the select tool, as that's
where the selection is stored.  I really should do something about
that (i.e. move the selection out into neutral territory).
