Well bloody ass raping donkey fuck, that was a worthwhile experiment. Not. It's running off the other HD. I deleted the segment, removed the file, re-loaded the file putting a suitable path offset into it to get the backup version off the other hard drive, then re-created the repeating segment and whatnot. Then, for good measure, I quit RG entirely and reloaded, lest it get stuck playing old data like it did yesterday. So after all that... Guess what? Yup. IT QUITS AFTER NINE ITERATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Different hard drive, nothing else can possibly be reading from this drive because it is used for no other purpose but nightly backups, and isn't normally even mounted 23 hours out of the day. Well, that exhausts my tinkering options. I guess this project is dead in the water, and I'll go back to thinking of Rosegarden in my own head as a MIDI sequencer with half-assed, utterly useless audio features tacked on as an unfortunate afterthought. If anyone ever manages to use this thing to accomplish an audio-centric project, they deserve to get a fucking medal. -- Michael McIntyre ---- Silvan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Linux fanatic, and certified Geek; registered Linux user #243621 http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Rue/5407/ http://rosegarden.sourceforge.net/tutorial/ ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
