About this issue, I've just added some profilers in the composition view. Could the interested parties (i.e. Silvan) enable the profiler by commenting out these line at the top of base/Profiler.C #ifdef NDEBUG #define NO_TIMING 1 #endif then, in an empty composition, create a segment, move it across the composition back and forth a couple of times, then quit RG and post the relevant lines in the profile dump ?
