It's still better to save the previews in the rg process rather than in
the X server, which won't grow the way you reported yesterday. I also
wonder if these QImages do consume that much memory, given that they are
like 20 pixels high or something. As for the rest, I really don't know.
I'd rather hand it off to you at this point and get back at fixing why
the recording segments don't appear anymore while recording (or was it
the previews, I don't remember).
In any case, I think the audio previews as they are now are beta-release
worthy, except for these gaps while zooming which IMHO are more urgent
than in-process memory usage.
I'd really like to have another RG release *this year*, too :-).
