It all seems spiffy keen as described.  I heartily agree with your targets for 
1.3, as these seem relatively easy to get right, and are in high demand.  1.4 
in "several months" seems preposterously optimistic to me, but you've 
surprised me before.

I think we should go ahead and merge the guitar tab bits into HEAD.  It's 
reached a point where there's something real there, and it needs a bit of the 
sort of tinkering it isn't going to get in a place that's off to the side and 
easy to overlook.  Some of the tinkering I have the skills and inclination to 
do, and I myself would be more likely to fiddle with it if I didn't have to 
go to some bother to expose myself to it.

We've had two or three just in the last week or so who said they were going to 
wait for a final release of 1.2.3.  I really think we'll see more happy users 
if we make good on the intention to release 1.2.4 and kin, and get them out 
to the packagers.  Other packages release small fix versions all the time, 
and fast-changing distros like Debian Sid keep pace pretty well.
