It depends on the timeframe, I guess. It's pretty raw, but is it "too raw?" Maybe not. If you're looking at at least a few (3-4) months before 1.3, then we probably have time to polish it sufficiently for human consumption in that time. It doesn't necessarily have to be a true thing of beauty yet to be released; especially if we start releasing more often. The problems I have with it off the top of my head are * fiddly, confusing dialog * fretboards have a font problem that also affects many other things in Rosegarden, and requires the user to have his KDE "General" font set at a size below 12 to avoid breaking things (track labels are the next big one, and miscellaneous others as well.) * needs some other piddly whatnots to be integrated properly; an icon, and maybe some issues ironed out with clickability * fretboard display in the notation view needs some real layout help (probably best done by you) There are doubtless other problems, but I don't have the sense that any of them are too massive to iron out in a reasonable period, and I feel like I could get my toes into about everything except the layout issues in a fairly short timeframe. I think I'd vote to merge it over to HEAD, work from HEAD, and shoot off a 1.3 branch without it if it really proves necessary. -- D.
