No, that's more than adequate.

Just run QJackCtl first, and hit the start button on it, if necessary.  It 
will switch to say "started" in its little graphical panel.  Then with JACK 
going beforehand, run Rosegarden, and see if you fare any better.

It's a long shot anyway, admittedly.

Oh now, I don't want me old cobber to start cryin' on me.  You can just gloss 
over the part.  I wasn't trying to suggest you change a thing.  I said that 
mostly for the benefit of whatever magical person is going to follow this up 
and say "Oh, stupid, your blingletwizzles are flitzjiggled, idiot."  
Referring to my code, most likely, not you at all.
