[I did a mistake (again) I wanted to send the message to everybody, it is below]

PS: I also add that a ghost segment could be used for the piano too (you click
on a single segment and you see two staffs for the left and right hand), but in
this case it should play, not sure if it's better than having two separate
tracks for the piano...

Ok, I understand the problem with having the events two times in a single view
with the current code.
Anyway, trying to work at this a bit, I came up with other ideas (maybe they're
not new as I see you already had a discussion about these topics before).

I discharged my previous idea of the view->segments menu, it is not intuitive
and not so fast to program. Instead I thought that each segment could have a
property which says if it is meant to be seen as tablature or standard notes
(we could then add other things like GrandStaff and PercussionStaff as you
said...).

Practically when a segment is created it is given a default value
("SingleStaff" maybe),and then you can easily modify it (by now I thought about
an entry to the context menu of the segments like [notation
type]->[...types...]).
At the beginning I would put only the possibility of showing the tab without
the notation (you can change the view-mode anyway if you want to see the notes).

As for the problem of showing the same segment two times (don't know if this
would work and would be a good solution), but maybe we could create something
like a ghost segment which does not play but can be viewed and is reciprocally
linked to the tab segment (when you add a number on the tab a note is added on
the ghost segment and vice-versa), at least this wouldn't requir major code
changes (still requires a moderate amount of coding tough)...

PS: as for the context menu on the segments I don't understand why it has to
contain: [select and edit],[move],[erase] etc. and also [undo],[redo]...
They are already on the toolbar on the top ( comfortable and intuitive )!!!
That context menu is just huge and not easy to read, and I think we can all
live without that commands in such a place...
