You are right, I hided the implementation of nesting, but obviously we
agreed otherwise. I supposed that the same segment may occur many
times. The nesting can be implemented with definition:

(iv') 'score' is 'a set of segments and scores'

This definition should be enough to provide all kinds of scores. The
only restriction to the 'score' is that it should not contain itself,
which prevents loops in nesting.
