LOL! Probably not worth compromising your reputation, even if RG devs
don't adopt your patch it should be reasonably easy to maintain, it
can be even scripted into the spec file.

Are they so anal then, eh? OK, staying away of resource files is not a
big problem, although it is a good way of making sure that your vital
media file will not be overwritten by a well-intentioned packager
trying to spare a few KB.

I think /usr/share is normally a great idea. Saves storage, bandwidth,
etc. But sometimes things are just not meant to be shared. I wonder if
the distro gods would put their own platform-independent girlfriends
there too. :-)
