Sorry to be so tardy in reply. I've been swamped...still am.
I did not try your patch, though I reviewed the code. I can review it early
next week at soonest. But sans, the editing of triggered segments in Notation
and Matrix View, I agree that the patch was mostly bug fixes--as you suggested.
Hopefully someone can get to it sooner than me. Sounds like Yves tried it out.

I'm happy for you to look into trying your hand at coding the sym-link
segments. Don't take all the posting as an indicator that we were thinking
otherwise. Michael and I like to talk things to death around here. It sort of
a pain, but in general it provides a good way pin down the details before too
much coding effort has begun.

If Michael or another developer accepts your patch, that typically will buy you
a seat as a developer on the RG team (yeah, the bar is set pretty low). The
upside is that you can commit to trunk or create a branch (as you suggested).
The down side is that you have to deal with idiots (like me).
So, hopefully someone will give the thumbs up on the patch and we can go from
there.
