It's just as well I haven't made any progress toward getting Rosegarden to 
build with Qt 4.7 then.

Does anybody remember/know how on earth to do this, incidentally?  You can 
download Qt pre-compiled and drop it in userland in a tidy little package, but 
I just futzed around here for what turned into an hour, and I never could get 
Rosegarden to find Qt with dozens of permutations of QTDIR.

I think the last time I actually got this to work, I had to compile Qt from 
source and install to /usr/local.

QPixmap::scaled() as suggested by Tom and others really does look like it 
ought to be a drop-in replacement for the old ::resize(), and he already 
confirmed that it worked for him.  Let's try going that route.  It really 
looks like it SHOULD work, so now we just have to figure out why it doesn't 
for you or for me.

I'll also mention that I've fooled around with turning off the stylesheet and 
assorted other things like that.  I can change the look of everything being 
all wrecked, but none of that stuff has any bearing on anything important, and 
it's a red herring.
