I'm thinking it makes the most sense to leave both of those where they are, and merge some aspects of both into a new third thing. We need to leave Text::Chord support for legacy reasons anyway, and it just seems more natural to me to leave fretboards as fretboards, and hang this new functionality off of a separate new tool. Fretboards ought to be very informative figuring out the bread crumb trail of how to get a new kind of entity displayed on the staff. -- D.
