Another random thought... Instead of having new controls and a separate
set of everything to translate, we already have the guitar chord
database for the guitar chord tool. That doesn't have the bass note
thing (Ab/F or whatever, for example) but it's filled to brimming with
sus and add11 and all manner of craziness.

It seems like there ought to be some way to pull them together. It
really ought to be translated too, and if I ever set that up, it only
has to get done in one place instead of two.

Another thought: LilyPond directives are really crap, and deserve to
exist as some special entity that displays nicely. Instead of having a
text string that says "Next bar is Alt1->" and other crap like that,
there should be some more tidy looking graphical representation.

Same sort of thing could apply to the chords that can be transposed.

Or maybe not. I didn't do this the first time, because it's a huge pain
in the ass. One thing I remember is I invested many hours trying to
make it possible to display a fermata over a rest, and the whole
notation rendering engine guts stuff is so impressively obtuse and
incomprehensible that I ultimately failed.

Blah blah blah, I'm just rambling, mostly.
