I ruled out NTP by booting and using the computer without internet (LAN
cable disconneted, and there's no wifi). I still got tempo swing at one
point during my short session.

I'm really interested to know if I should change the kernel, but first I
need to check out what's the current one and do some searching on what
people say about it.
