I've just recreated the workaround with current SVN. Commented out lines 
1519-1602 in AlsaDriver.cpp, fully deactivating setCurrentTimer(). Here in 
openSUSE leap 15, the default ALSA timer is the HRTIMER, so Rosegarden is 
running here with the HRTIMER without freezing the system.
