Thanks for the heads up re. GM.rgd. It seems that Qsynth 'remembers' previous settings even before you load RG. It may be

that there was some interaction between that, the GM/GM2 issue and a new version of Fluidsynth. However,

I have just checked again with a clean setup - Qsynth running, GM2.rgd loaded, new part with a few notes edited in on track 6.

Track 6 set to GM2 device, Midi channel 6. Instrument params set to Percussion | Drumsets | Standard | Fixed.

Result = Piano! and looking at the 'Channels' dialog in Qsynth this is confirmed.

If I change the Midi channel to 10, then I get drums but I understood that it should be possible to set

any midi channel for percussion - or did I dream that? 🙂
