Hi,

I'm looking at RPCEmu for the first time to see if I can do a little bit of
investigation of some old programs I wrote.

I've poked around the mailing list archive (which doesn't seem to be
searchable), without finding anything about the following points, so
apologies in advance if I'm duplicating earlier postings.

I have noticed a couple of problems with 0.8.8 which seem fairly basic. I
have built it on Linux (Ubuntu 10.10). I am running the interpreter version
with the rpc.cfg recommended in the manual and 3.60 ROM images.

The first problem is that when I run rpcemu, the contents of CMOS RAM seems
to be ignored: I have to reboot in order for the machine to run !Boot, for
the configured screen mode to be set &c. &c.

The second problem is that changing the screen in any way, such as changing
the screen mode, or bringing up the menus, results in the entire window
going black afterwards, so I have to stop and restart rpcemu. If I press
Ctrl+End to open the menus, then I can use them fine, but as soon as I close
them the screen goes black. This means the menus are fairly useless, except
for exiting the program!

Other than that, I'm able to do what I want, I think: I was able to install
a hard disk image with !Boot, as per the rpcemu manual, and I have started
loading the small amount of software I need in order to do the experiments I
want. Thanks very much to the authors.
