Hi Jean,

Regarding junk reports -- the current system has safeguards against bots; however, it seems that humans are submitting the majority of junk reports.

There have been around 450 reports submitted this year, with about 23% of those being junk.

The RPC has received requests to update the errata system so that the RPC can delete junk reports before notifications are sent to verifiers, authors, and WGs (In the current system, the triage step to delete junk reports occurs after notifications go out to mailing lists.) draft-farrell-errata says the following:

The RPC are empowered to delete obvious spam as
soon as possible. The RPC should periodically (perhaps yearly)
report to the RSAB on recent trends related to spam in this system.

Are there any objections to the new system allowing the closure of spam reports before notifications are sent? The closed reports would not be displayed on the website, but could remain accessible to system's admins.

It's better to close those reports to avoid this: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/wgchairs/cv7YR-gotp11r07P3uA03U5cUrU/
