I think there is really no point any longer in backporting anything in the
doc. We haven't done so for a couple without any bad effect.

On removing the old style from current doc: I don't think we should do so.
Because you need to know what existed to understand existing confs. We
should, however, try to replace old style as much as possible in config
samples (quite a bit of work...).
