Further to the media news on collapsing of Hotel Shakunt, opp Kalupur
Railway Station, Ahmedabad on 3rd February 2008, following
information, in larger public interest, is requested under the Right
to Information Act 2005.
1. No. of AMC identified structurally unsafe buildings in
Ahmedabad as on 31st December 2007.
2. No. of them that have been issued eviction notices by AMC till
31st December 2007.
3. No. of unsafe buildings at or nearby which the warning notices
have been displayed prominently for public at large to know of the
safety risk involved.
4. AMC policy on sealing the unsafe buildings in Ahmedabad.
5. AMC Authority that is empowered to seal the unsafe buildings
in Ahmedabad.
6. Policy on issuing eviction notice for unsafe buildings in
Ahmedabad.
7. AMC Authority that is empowered to issue eviction notice for
the unsafe buildings in Ahmedabad.
8. Availability of the power with AMC on forcible eviction of
people from the unsafe buildings to save the lives / avoid injuries to
the people.
9. AMC Authority that is empowered to forcible evict people from
the unsafe buildings in Ahmedabad.
10. No. of full-fledged major municipal hospitals in Ahmedabad.
