The CIC has put up the notice for full bench hearing on its website, in connection with the case of Shri Mangesh B. Thakore, Mumbai v/s Office of the Official Liquidator, High Court, Mumbai.
As per the notice "This case was heard by the Single Bench on 15.5.2008 and upon perusing the documents and hearing the respondents, it was felt that a determination is to be made whether the Office of Official Liquidator is an independent ‘Public Authority’ under Section 2(h) of the RTI Act, 2005, especially in view of the direct control over it exercised by the High Court. As the issue is important from the legal point of view, it was decided that the appeal be heard by a Larger Bench of the Commission." "The matter will be heard by Full Bench on August 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. and all concerned are requested to appear before the Commission in the Court Room No. 308 of the Commission at the above address, with relevant documents on August 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. for hearing."
